Q & A

Answer: Bearings are what allows the skateboard to roll. There are 2 in each of the 4 wheels.  They are sold in packs of 8, 1 size fits all and can cost from $5 to $100’s of dollars.  They are replaceable and can be done at home or at the store when you buy them. Most are classified with an ABEC rating number of 3, 5, 7 or 9.  Read this blog post about ABEC ratings to better understand. Or to read more about maintaining your bearings read this post. Always, Happy Skateboarding!

bearings are not cheap….my hubby just bought our 6 and 7 year olds “bones swiss 6 bearings”…but boy do they go faster and smoother…they seem to LOVE them….i mean where do we go from here….ceramics…..i mean they are only 6 and 7…their last bearings were super reds…but i guess as long as the kiddos are skating…at least they are not inside watching tv or playing video games….
